Ash Wednesday at Abiding Word Evangelical Lutheran Church will begin with a 6 p.m. "Potluck Soup Supper" followed by an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m.

St. Aloysius Catholic Parish will hold its Ash Wednesday Masses at 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. and 9 p.m. A Scripture Service with ash distribution will be held at noon and 5:30 p.m.
Confessions will be heard following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. Religious education students will receive ashes at 7:15 p.m. in the gymnasium.

St. Thomas More University Parish will have a 7 a.m. Mass for Ash Wednesday. There will also be Masses at 12:15 and 9 p.m.
Ash distribution services will be held at 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the B.G.S.U. Grand Ballroom, as well as from 5:15 to 6 p.m. at the same location. Also in the ballroom there will be confessions and ash distribution available from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Confessions will also be heard 8 to 9 a.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. at the church, and after the campus service from 6 to 7 p.m.

Rev. Melanie Haack's sermon for the 7:30 p.m. Ash Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church will be "The Journey Begins."

For Ash Wednesday at Haskins Community Church there will be a potluck at 6 p.m., followed by worship at 7.

The North Baltimore Area Cooperative Ministry will begin its weekly series of "Community Lenten Luncheons" on Ash Wednesday at Holy Family Parish. (See Lenten story above.)
Pastor Ralph Mineo's sermon topic for the 7:15 p.m. Ash Wednesday service at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church will be "Myth #1 - It's All About Me," beginning a Lenten sermon series entitled, "Six Myths That can Make Us Miserable." The services will run each Wednesday through Lent.
Wednesday's service will include the imposition of ashes on the forehead.

Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village will host area churches for an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. It is open to the entire area community.

Ash Wednesday services at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. There will be imposition of ashes and Holy Communion at both.

Blessed John XXIII Parish will have Ash Wednesday Masses at 9 a.m., and both 5 and 7 p.m.

St. Rose Catholic Church will have its Ash Wednesday Masses at 7 and 9:15 a.m., 5:30 and 7 p.m., along with an All-School Mass at 2 p.m. There will also be a "Liturgy of the Word" service with distribution of ashes at 12:15 p.m.

Pastor John Merseth will begin the weekly Lenten worships on Ash Wednesday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lenten supper will be served from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with the Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m.
