The United Methodists of West Ohio Conference will gather Monday through Wednesday on the shores of Lake
Erie for the 2014 Annual West Ohio Conference Session at Lakeside Chautauqua.
The episcopal leader, Gregory V. Palmer, Resident Bishop, Ohio West Area, says, "We will worship and
learn together and deliberate in community on our way to making some important decisions that will shape
our shared ministry going forward. We will commission and ordain as well celebrate some milestones in
ministry. For example you have done a remarkable job with Imagine No Malaria, Connectional Giving and
Disaster Response."
Palmer adds, "Last year we plunged into to the theme ‘Becoming the Beloved Community: Taken,
Blessed, Broken and Given.’ This year we will focus on blessedness. I have no illusion that we will
exhaust the theme or what it means to be blessed. But I hope we will go deep enough to allow the truth
of our being a blessed people to give shape and contour to all that we do and say."
Finally, Palmer urges United Methodists to, "Most of all give yourself to the preparation of prayer
as we continue to be shaped and formed into God’s Beloved Community: Taken, Blessed, Broken and
Given."
