Classic cars rev up BG 7-16-12

A 1967 Oldsmobile 442 owned by Tom Selhorst of
Columbus Grove took home Best of Show honors Saturday during Bowling Green’s
11th Classics on Main Car Show. The car is also a national Oldsmobile award
winner. Perrysburg resident John Odenweller took home the People’s Choice Award
with his 1995 Chevrolet Corvette. Runner up in People’s Choice was Nancy
Lewandoski of Perrysburg with a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette. (Photos : J.D.

There were 260 exhibitors, with a dozen
electric/hybrid vehicles displayed in a special area designated as Electric
Avenue.
A 1955 Ford Sunliner owned by Gene Walters sits along
Main Street in Bowling Green with other classic cars.
"It was a good collection and quality of
vehicles," show committee member Tom Striggow said this morning. "I
was at a show in Cleveland Sunday and three people there had been her Saturday
and were all very positive about our show."
Downtown BG Director Barb Ruland said more than
100 people volunteered their time to help make the show a success.
There were 18 categories of
competition.
