Local youth bowler Kyle Waynick was among the scholarship winners in the annual Ohio Pepsi Youth tournament held in Columbus.
Waynick totaled 1,378 for the six games, a nearly 230 average. He thus finished eighth in the 20 and under boys division and earned a $75 scholarship.
USBC awards: John Przybylski, bowling in the Summer PBA Plus league at Al-Mar Lanes, recently rolled his first career 300 game.
The league competes on very challenging lane conditions. It was his fourth game of the night giving him a 949 total. He previously had a high of 253 in his 649 series.
The oil pattern used for this effort was the World Tournament Bowler's Association, Los Angeles event, pattern.
Reminder: The summer Kids Bowl Free league begins Wednesday at Al-Mar Lanes. There is still time to participate for a very nominal fee, parents or other adults can bowl with the youth for a very nominal fee.

Teaser: Al-Mar will once again host many of the top professional senior bowlers in the world for its upcoming regional tournament July 30 to Aug. 1. for the PBA 50 Central/Midwest Classic event. The local center is trying to organize a special kick-off tournament where amateur bowlers can add a professional to their team for the special Baker-format event. Watch for details at the,bowling center's website.
