TOLEDO - Inma Zanoguera scored a career-high 24 points to lead Toledo's women's basketball to a 61-43 victory over Youngstown State in the second round of the WNIT Saturday.
The Rockets (29-3) face the winner of tonight's Illinois-Eastern Illinois game in the third-round. The date and site of the game will be released after tonight's game at Illinois.
Toledo has advanced to the third-round of the WNIT for the third-straight season.
Zanoguera was 10-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-3 on 3-pointers, against the Penguins (23-10). She has scored in double figures in 10 of Toledo's last 12 games. Zanoguera also had four rebounds and a game-high three steals.
Naama Shafir contributed 14 points and a season-tying best eight rebounds for the Rockets.
Toledo controlled the interior and finished with a 34-10 edge in points in the paint. The Rockets held a 48-31 advantage on the boards, winning the battle on the glass for a 14th-consecutive contest.
The Rockets also played well defensively, limiting Youngstown State to 25 percent shooting from the field and its second-lowest offensive output of the season.
Toledoequaled the school record for victories in a season and tied for second most in MAC history. Toledo also won 29 contests two years ago. The conference record is 31 wins by Bowling Green during the 2006-07 season.
There were 2,568 fans in Savage Arena.
