Perrysburg’s Baer named second-team Al-Ohio
COLUMBUS – Perrysburg’s Sarah Baer was a second-team selection on the Division I girls All-Ohio
basketball team announced Monday night.
The 6-foot-1 senior averaged 17.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game during the regular season, shooting
56 percent (148-of-264) from the field and 68 percent from the free-throw line (75-of-110). Baer also
had 51 steals, 35 blocked shots, and 37 assists.
Perrysburg, ranked sixth in the final state poll, were 22-4 overall and won the Northern Lakes League
championship.
Baer will play collegiately at Bowling Green next season.
Appold commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS – Perrysburg junior Audra Appold has verbally committed to play volleyball at Ohio State.
The 5-foot-11 middle hitter had 391 kills and 284 digs last fall. She also has 35.5 blocks and 45 aces.

Appold, who earned a scholarship to OSU, helped Perrysburg to records of 23-3 overall and 14-0 in the
Northern Lakes League.
The Yellow Jackets, ranked ninth in the final state poll, lost to top-ranked and state runnerup Toledo
St. Ursula in a Division I district final.
Falcon women 25th in nation
The Bowling Green women’s basketball team is ranked 25th in this week’s Associated Press national poll.

The Falcons received 49 points in this week’s poll, just out-distancing USC (48 points) for the final
spot in the top 25.
Bowling Green’s appearance in the AP poll is the program’s first since March 2, 2009, when BG was listed
25th in both the AP and USA Today polls.
The Falcons, 27-3 overall, were tied for 28th last week with 30 points.
Rogers earns MAC honor
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green’s Alexis Rogers has been named the Mid-American Conference East women’s
basketball player of the week.
The senior led the team in scoring, rebounding and steals as the Falcons went 2-0 on the road to capture
the MAC regular-season championship outright.
Rogers averaged 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.5 steals per game as BG topped Miami, 73-56, before
winning at Akron by a 77-76 score to finish MAC play with a 17-1 record and a league championship.
BG selling tickets for playoff series against Michigan Tech
Bowling Green is selling tickets for its Western Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal series
against Michigan Tech.
The best-of-3 series is Friday, Saturday and, if needed, Sunday in the Ice Arena at 7:07 p.m.
Fans can order tickets by phone from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday by calling (877) BGSU-TICKET.
Season ticket holders can pick up their playoff tickets in person at the ticket office during regular
business hours during the week.
Tickets are $13 for general admission and $15 for bench reserved seats. Tickets for university students
are $5.
All season parking passes will be honored for the series.
