BG boys golf takes third in Maumee Invitational

Bowling Green's boys golf team finished third Tuesday in the Maumee Invitational at Heatherdowns.
The Bobcats shot a 313 total in the 19-team tournament.
St. Francis won with a 301.
Also from Wood County, Perrysburg was 10th at 350, Eastwood was 13th with a 357 and Rossford was 15th with a 368.
BG's scorers were: Trey Walker, 73, second overall; Andrew Herringshaw and Tyler Remeis, 79 each; and Nolan Dill, 82.
Perrysburg's scorers were: Spencer George, 84; Zach Zam, 85; Mitchel Skotynsky, 88; and Wilhelm, 93.
Eastwood's scorers were: Steven Bruning, 83; David Krukemyer, 90; Kyle Waynick, 91; and Ross Brockbrader, 93.
Rossford's scorers were: Ryan Niese, 83; Mason Robinson, 85; Alex Smith, 96; and Chris Schaffer, 104.

Eastwood places ninth

At Green Hills, Eastwood was ninth in the 15-team Clyde Invitational Monday. Clyde was by one stroke with a 312 total. Eastwood finished with a 364.
Eastwood's scorers were: Bruning, 81; Bockbrader, 89; Krukemyer, 92; and Joe Boyk, 102.

GIRLS GOLF Perrysburg finishes fifth
At White Pines in Swanton, Perrysburg finished fifth in the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
The Yellow Jackets shot a 356 total.
St. Ursula won the 16-team event with a 329.
Also from Wood County, Otsego was 10th (421), Bowling Green was 12th (443), Perrysburg's junior varsity was 13th (455) and Eastwood was 16th (475).
Perrysburg's scores were: Monica Dorner, Kendra Wolf, both 88; Madison Williams, 89; and Katie Krieger, 91.
Perrysburg's JV scores were: Macy Tudor, 97; Lauren Beauchamp, 117; Sonia Krolak, 119; and Sarah Kulmatycki, 122.
Otsego's scores were: Haley Long, 93; McKinley Asmus, 102; Hannah Davis, 112; and Katie Miller, 114.
Otsego had two JV players compete - Cameryn Drain, 120; and Eva Scott, 124.
BG's scores were: Erin Peterson, 88; Alisha Noon, 94; Erica Rybak, 97; and Mickayla Thompson, 164.
Eastwood's scores were: Alysa Rice, 103; Elisa Reyes, 119; Hannah Cook, 126; and Abbi Sheldrick, 127.

GIRLS TENNIS
Perrysburg 3, Findlay 2
In Findlay, Perrysburg's winners in Tuesday's non-league match were Moira Sams at third singles, and the doubles team of Grace Conley and Camryn Kiel, and Sarah Fastnacht and Jordan Spidel.

BGHS 5, Archbold 0
Bowling Green's single winners in the non-league match were Cassadie Baker, Maggie Schaller and Samantha Spackey.
BG's doubles teams of Molly Fenn and Sabrina Smith, and Rachel Miller and Teagen Doren.

Falcon baseball adds two
Trey Keegan, from Sandusky High School, and Devin Daugherty, from Wooster High School, will join the Bowling Green Falcon baseball team for the upcoming season.
Keegan is a catcher/right-handed pitcher and Daugherty is a right-handed pitcher.

BG Blast 9U tryouts set
The Bowling Green Blast 9U travel baseball team will hold tryouts for the 2013 season Saturday at 10 a.m. and Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at the BGSU Meserve Field.

Links Lassies
The Links Lassies held a medal play event at Forrest Creason Golf Course Tuesday.
The flight winners were: A, Kay Soltez, low gross and low net; B, Terri Glick, low gross and low net; and C, Pat Patton, low gross and low net. Mary Ann Hillier used the low number of putts.

Salvation Army golf outing
NORTH BALTIMORE - The North Baltimore Salvation Army golf outing is Sept. 1 at Birch Run Golf Course with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost is $200, which includes a cart, for each four-person team.
The proceeds will benefit Salvation Army food programs.

Owens Findlay campus to host  
5K run, walk on Sept. 15
FINDLAY - Owens Community College's Findlay campus will host a 5K run and walk Sept. 15 to benefit the school's cross country club team.
The event starts at 8:30 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance as the cost is only $15 and includes a T-shirt. Race and walk registrants will pay $20 on Sept. 15.
Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.
