Falcon baseball splits
TOLEDO – T.J. Losby was 5-for-5 and Brian Bien was 3-for-5 Sunday to lead Bowling Green’s baseball team
to a 12-9 win over Western Michigan and a split of their Mid-American Conference doubleheader.
Western was a 6-2 winner in Game 1.
Losby also had two runs and two RBI, and Bien scored three times and had two RBI.
Five Falcons had hits in Game 1.
On Saturday, Mike Frank pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk in BG’s 3-1 win over
Western.
Andrew Kubuski, Jeremy Shay, T.J. Losby and Brandon Howard each had two hits for BG.
BG softball wins
OXFORD – Chelsea Raker and Trista Mokienko hit home runs to highlight Bowling Green’s four-run 10th
inning Sunday, giving the Falcon softball team a 9-5 win over Miami.
Raker finished 3-for-5 with four RBI, while Mokienko, and Katie Yoho each had two hits.
The Falcons are 13-18-1 overall and 3-3 in the MAC. Miami is 16-17, 4-2.
On Saturday, the Falcons had just four singles in a 3-1 loss to Miami.
Falcon gymnasts compete in NCAA regional
BATON ROUGE, La. – Three members of Bowling Green’s gymnastics team competed in the all-around at the
NCAA regional Saturday.
Alyssa Nocella was BG’s top finisher, scoring a 39.150 to place ninth, while Megan Harrington tied for
10th with a 38.925, and Gina Locigno placed 12th with a 38.400.
Nocella tied for 15th on the floor with a 9.850. She posted at least a 9.750 in all four rotations.
Harrington had a 9.850 on the balance team and scored an identical 9.850 on floor to tie Nocella for 15th
on the event. Locigno added a 9.800 on floor and scored 9.725 on vault.
BG women’s golf ties for sixth
RICHMOND, Ky. – Bowling Green’s women’s golf team tied for sixth Saturday in the 12-team Eastern Kentucky
Invitational. The Falcons shot a 317 total.
BG’s scores were: Lily Bartell, tied for fourth, 74-155; Patricia Holt, tied for 28th, 81-161; Shelby
Wilson, tied for 43rd, 81-164; Bailey Arnold, 84-166; and Hannah Lewis, 81-169.
Falcon women’s tennis wins
PERRYSBURG – Bowling Green’s women’s tennis team improved to 8-6 overall with a 7-0 win Saturday over
Chicago State (5-15) at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
BG women’s track wins four events
ATHENS – Bowling Green’s women’s track team won four events Saturday at the Cherry Blossom Invitational
hosted by Ohio University.
The Falcons’ winners were: Makenzie Wheat, shot put, 46-9; Tina Perrine, discus, 151-2; Alicia Arnold,
400, 56.81; and Brittany Sinclair, 400 hurdles, 63.13.
Also for BG, Elmwood High School graduate Kori Reiser was second in the discus (141-5) and the hammer
throw (177-4).
Owens softball sweeps
DAYTON -Emily Morrow and Josie Hall combined to hit 15-for-16 with eight runs and six RBI Saturday to
lead 12th-ranked Owens Community College to an 8-5, 14-7 softball sweep of No. 20 Sinclair CC.
The Express are 14-2 overall and 4-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference, while Sinclair is
11-6, 2-4.
Also in the first game for Owens, Elmwood High School graduate Brittany George was 3-for-3 with a double,
an RBI and a run, and Tori Weidinger was 2-for-4 with a home run.
In the second game, George was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs, and Weidinger was 2-for-5
with a home run and three RBI.
Owens baseball loses twice
Lakeland Community College’s baseball team was a 4-3, 9-1 winner Sunday over Owens CC.
Zach Kazmierski had two hits and an RBI for Owens in the first game, and Charlie Sipe had two hits in the
second game.
Owens is 8-14 overall and 3-5 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference. Lakeland is 8-13, 3-3.

On Saturday, Owens posted a 1-0, 3-0 sweep of Lakeland.
In the first game, Owens’ Tyler Huth pitched a three-hitter and struck out 14 to break the school’s
single-game strikeout record. The record of 12 was set by Chris Ward in 2012.
In the second game, Kyle Bennett pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts for Owens.
Four players had hits for Owen in each game.
