Falcon golfers tied for fifth
RICHMOND, Ky. — The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team is tied for fifth after the opening
round of the Colonel Classic, hosted by Eastern Kentucky, on Friday.
Eastern Kentucky leads the 12-team field with a plus-25 313. Bowling Green and Ohio are tied at plus-38,
326.
BG’s scorers were: Patrick Holt, tied for 19, 80 Lily Bartell, tied for 23rd, 81; Bailey Arnold, tied for
28th, 81; Shelby Wilson, tied for 37th, 83; and Hannah Lewis, tied for 59th, 88.
Mikayla Baer was playing as an individual for the Falcons and shot a 79, which is tied for 12th.
The tournament was cut to two rounds and the final round is Saturday.
BGSU tennis wins
PERRYSBURG — The Bowling Green State University tennis team beat Northern Illinois, 6-1 in a Mid-American
Conference match Friday at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
BG is 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the MAC.
Falcon softball canceled
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University softball team’s doubleheader Friday at Ball State
University was canceled due to unplayable conditions. The Falcons are scheduled to play single games at
Miami on Saturday and Sunday.
BGSU baseball postponed
TOLEDO — The Bowling Green State University baseball game with Western Michigan at Mercy Field was
postponed Friday.
The two teams will play a game Saturday at noon and a doubleheader on Sunday.
Owens golf wins
CHILLICOTHE — The No. 1 Owens Community College men’s golf team shot a 304 and won the 15-team Ohio
University-Chillicothe Invitational by 18 strokes Friday.
Owens’ Harrison Long was the medalist with an even-par 72.
