Ragland to coach with Falcons
David Ragland has officially been named an assistant men’s basketball men’s basketball coach at Bowling
Green State University.
Ragland comes to BG after spending the last four years on the coaching staff at Indiana State University.

"I am extremely excited to add coach Ragland to our staff at BGSU," BG head coach Chris Jans.
"I have known David for 10 years and he will bring a wealth of talent, and a strong work ethic to
our program. Coach ‘Rags’ ability to build relationships with current and potential student-athletes,
parents, and coaches will be a tremendous asset to BGSU."
"I am really looking forward to the opportunity here at BGSU," said Ragland. "I believe in
Chris Jans and am excited about the direction of BGSU athletics under Chris Kingston. I’ve been
fortunate to work at some great places with great people while having some success. BGSU has the feel of
something special and I look forward to being a part of the process."
Alt meets MAC standard in the steeplechase
WALNUT, Calif. – Bowling Green State University’s Andrea Alt, from Perrysburg High School, surpassed the
Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying mark in the 3,000 steeplechase, running a 10:57.52 at the
Mt. SAC Relays Thursday night.
Alt finished 19th out of 24 runners.
BG volleyball signs middle hitter
Clara Martinez, a 6-foot-2 middle from Colmenar Viejo, Madrid, Spain, has a signed a national letter of
intent to play college volleyball at Bowling Green in the fall.
Martinez is a Spanish national team player who has competed in the highest U19 division in Spain, earning
both U19 and U16 Spanish championships.
Falcons sign gymnast
Jordan Rae, from Auckland, New Zealand, has signed a national letter of intent to further her gymnastics
and academic careers at Bowling Green State University.
She attended Baradene College of the Sacred Heart, graduating in 2012. She earned the school’s most
outstanding performance award in both 2010 and 2011 and was an ASB College Sports Woman of the Year
finalist in 2011 and 2012.
Rae was selected to compete for the 2010 senior international New Zealand Pacific Rim Team and competed
for New Zealand’s Commonwealth Games Team in Delhi, India. At the Commonwealth games, Rae placed fifth
on vault and 12th in the all-around. Her ability took her to Rotterdam, the Netherlands for the World
Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2010 and to Tokyo, Japan for the same event in 2011. Rae was
selected as a first reserve for the 2012 Olympic Games in Artistic Gymnastics.
BG women’s golf drops dual match
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team lost to Western Michigan on Thursday
at Glendarin Hills Golf Club.
BG had a team score of 320 and Western Michigan shot a 304.
Freshman Mikayla Baer led the Falcons with a 78.
BG’s Bartell, Narro honored by MAC
CLEVELAND -Bowling Green State University golfers Lily Bartell and Joe Narro are the Mid-American
Conference golfers of the week.
Bartell won the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational with a 7-over-par 151 total.
Narro was the medalist with a 4-under-par 206 to help the Falcons finish second in the The Greenbrier
Collegiate Invitational.
Owens softball loses twice
NORTH EAST Penn. – The 12th-ranked Owens Community College softball team dropped a pair of games to
eighth-ranked Mercyhurst North East Community College.
Mercyhurst won game one in five innings, 10-0. The Express were hitless in the game.
In game two, Owens collected 12 hits, but dropped 12-6 decisions.
Elmwood’s Brittany George had a solo home run for the Express.
The Express are 16-6.
Cramer basketball camp planned
The Cramer Basketball Camps are planned this summer at the Bowling Green Community Center.
Camps for finishing and shooting; attack skills; and advanced level shooting are planned.
