BGSU swimmers third
GENEVA — Bowling Green State University is third after the second day of the Mid-American Conference
women’s swimming and diving meet.
The Falcons have 324 points, just eight points behind second-place Miami. Akron tops the eight-team field
with 378 points.
BG’s 800 freestyle relay team of Victoria Griffin, Joelie Scheps, Emily Waller, and Hannah Newman set a
school record with a 7:20.05 time while finishing second.
Newman was timed in 1:48.71 in the preliminaries of the 200 freestyle to set a school record.
Daniela Carrillo had BG’s other top finish Friday, taking second in the 100 breast stroke (101.83).
Griffin was third in the 200 freestyle final (1:49.10).
Falcon baseball loses
ATLANTA — Georgia Tech’s baseball team scored three times in the third inning Friday to erase a 2-0
deficit and post a 3-2 win Friday over Bowling Green.
Brian Bien had three singles for BG, while Patrick Lancaster had two singles, including a two-RBI hit in
the second inning.
BG starter Cody Apthorpe allowed the three runs on seven hits over the first six innings.
Falcon receivers Jason Link and Ethan McKenney allowed just one hit over the final two innings.
BG is 2-5, while Tech is 5-4.
Falcon track in fifth at MAC
KENT — The Bowling Green women’s track is fifth with 15 points after the first day of the Mid-American
Conference championships. Eastern Michigan leads the meet with 40 points.
BG’s Brooke Pleger was fourth in the weight throw (66-51?4) and Tina Perrine (59-53?4) was fifth.
Also for the Falcons, senior Jeanette Pettigrew was fourth in the long jump (19-4) in only the second
time in her career she has competed in the event.
Pettigrew also tied the school record in the 200 (24.34) in advancing to the finals.
Final BG Youth Baseball registration Monday
Bowling Green Youth Baseball will hold its final registration this Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Carter
Park Henschen Building. Players age 4-15 are eligible to play.

NB plans spring parents meeting
NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore will hold its state mandatory spring parents meeting Tuesday night at
6:30.
The meeting starts with the Ohio High School Athletic Association video, followed by meetings with the
individual head coaches. If you have watched the video this school year, you need not to attend this
part of the meeting. All spring athletes and their parents need to attend the meeting.
If you cannot attend, you will need to set up a time with the individual head coach.
