BGSU swimmers break school records
GENEVA -The Bowling Green State University swimming team broke two school records and tied another
Thursday on the first day of Mid-American Conference swimming and diving championships.
The Falcons are tied for fourth in the team standings with Buffalo at 138 points. Akron is first with 201
points.
Tara Capouch set a school record in the 500 freestyle (4:52.84); the 400 medley relay team of Maya
Skorupski, Daniela Carrillo, Joelle Scheps and Victoria Griffin swam a 3:40.79 to set a school record;
and Griffin tied the 50 freestyle record (23.09) in the preliminaries.
BG’s top finishes were thirds by the 400 medley relay team, of Griffin, Kayla Efflinger, Bruttany
Szekely; and Hannah Newman in the 200 freestyle (1:31.95).
3-on-3 hoops tournament set
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation and Bowling Green Teen Central is hosting the Triple Threat 3 on 3
Basketball Tournament at the Bowling Green Community Center on March 22.
Registration is open for teens in grades six-12.
