Friday night’s Bowling Green High School hockey game against Northview in the Ice Arena was suspended because of unsafe playing conditions, the result of a problem with the glass.
The game was suspended with 3:02 remaining in the first period and the game scoreless.
A section of glass was damaged after it was hit by a player following a check.
The replacement glass did not fit tightly between its supports and the officials decided to suspend the game, citing unsafe playing conditions, BG coach Dan DeWitt said.
The game was called after about a 45-minute delay.
BG’s home game this afternoon against Noblesville (Ind.) at 4:45 is expected to be played as scheduled.
After the game was called, DeWitt said another replacement piece of glass was found to fit snuggly and the BGSU club team played its game as scheduled later Friday night.
The BG-Northview game will be rescheduled, but DeWitt didn’t know if the game would be resumed from the point of suspension or if the game would start over.
