Owens women lose FLINT, Mich. - Mott College defeated the Owens Community College women's basketball team, 77-70 on Thursday. It was Owens' four game in seven days. Emma-Jean Ricketts led the Express offense with 20 points and six rebounds, while Uniqua Mitchell had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Also for Owens, Breonna House, a freshman guard, made her first start of the season and finished with 11 points and three assists. Karahn Scott, who had not played since Dec. 5, scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds off the bench. Owens is now 10-5 overall. Mott tops Owens men FLINT, Mich. - Mott College opened the game with a 16-0 run and then had to slip past Owens Community College's men's basketball team, 76-68 Thursday. Owens is 9-6 overall. Joe Retic II led the Express with 19 points. James Kelly added 12 points and eight rebounds for Owens, while Justin Edmonds had 13 points. Chris Wilson finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals. Special deals planned for BGSU hockey, women's basketball The Bowling Green State University department of athletics is offering special promotions for the upcoming hockey and women's basketball home events. The hockey game vs. Niagara on Dec. 29, will be 'Buck Night', and the women's basketball game against Dayton the following afternoon will be a 'Dollar Day' event. For the hockey game, fans can purchase general admission tickets for $1 each, and popcorn will also be available for $1 at the Ice Arena concession stands. Faceoff is at 7 p.m. For the women's basketball game, fans can purchase seats in sections 106 through 112 for $1 apiece, and hot dogs will be available for $1 at the Stroh Center concession stands. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. |
