BG’s Holmes earns MAC honorCLEVELAND – Bowling Green State University’s Richaun Holmes is the
Mid-American Conference East men’s basketball player of the week.Holmes had back-to-back career-scoring
games and recorded a season-high five blocks in two straight contests to help lead the Falcons to a 1-1
record last week.Overall, he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, one steal and five blocks per game last
week.Falcon women get voteThe Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team received one vote in
the Associated Press poll this week.BG men’s golf signs threeMitchell Kontak, Cameron Michalak, and Ethan
DeForst have signed national letters of intent to play golf at Bowling Green State University.Kontak, from
Maumee, is a two-time Northern Lakes League player of the year. He recorded five tournament wins over seven
total events, including winning the district tournament.Michalak from Grove City Christian School, is a
two-time first-team All-Ohio selection. He had a 70.9 scoring average this fall, finishing third in the
state tournament and being second in 2012.DeForest, from Rondout Valley High School in Cottekill, N.Y., is
ranked in the top-500 in the country for the class of 2014, has posted three top-five finishes in American
Junior Golf Association events.
