week.Owens soccer loses on penalty kicksMELBOURNE, Fla. – Darton State College beat the Owens Community
College women’s soccer team, 6-5, on penalty kicks Monday.The game was the opening match of the National
Junior College Athletic Association Division I national tournament.After a scoreless first half, Darton
took a 1-0 lead, but Jessica Grindle, from Northwood High School, scored on an assist from Kendyl
Christian to tie the game with 13:10 remaining in regulation.The match then straight to penalty kicks
with no overtime, and Darton got the game-winner in the sixth round of penalty kicks.Owens, 17-3, plays
Butler CC today at 4 in an effort to stay alive in pool play.Perrysburg boys basketball games
rescheduledPERRYSBURG – Perrysburg’s boys basketball team has rescheduled its first two games after the
football team advanced to the second round of the state playoffs.The Yellow Jackets host Springfield
Dec. 17 and St. Francis Jan. 4.Baseball fundraiser setThe Black Swamp Monsters, a 10U baseball team from
Bowling Green, is having a fundraiser today from 4-7 p.m. at the McDonald’s at 1470 E. Wooster Street in
BG.A portion of the proceeds will go to the team.
