BGSU earns No. 4 seed for MAC volleyball tournamentAMHERST, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State
University volleyball team earned the No. 4 seed for the Mid-American Conference volleyball
tournament.The Falcons won a tiebreaker over NIU to secure the No. 4 seed.BG opens MAC tournament play
against Northern Illinois Friday at 2 p.m. at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.Buffalo beat BG, 25-20,
22-25, 25-21, 26-28, 15-13 Saturday. BG finished the regular season 14-14 overall and 10-6 in the
MAC.BG’s leaders were: Paige Penrod, 16 kills, 15 digs; Danielle Tonyan, 13 kills; Kelsey Bates, 13
kills; Erica Fullenkamp, 40 assists; Ashley Dunn, from Bowling Green High School, 20 digs; Libby
Dachenhaus, 16 digs; and Kaitlyn Skinner, seven block assists.Owens women winKamilah Carter made a
3-pointer with just over a minute to play to lift the Owens Express women’s basketball team to a 74-71
win over Lake Michigan College Saturday.Carter finished with 21 points.Other leaders for Owens were:
Eboni Adams, 13 points; and Paige Wright, 10 points, eight assists.Owens is 6-1.Express men winThe Owens
Community College men’s basketball team beat Lake Michigan College, 87-69 Saturday.Owens’ leaders were:
Tony Boykins, 13 points; Shaakir Lindsey, 13 points, six rebounds, three steals; Andy Bachman, 11
points; and John Murry, 11 points, five rebounds.Owens is 4-2.
