Perrysburg-Avon tickets on salePERRYSBURG – Tickets will be on sale in the athletic office at
Perrysburg High School today and Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for the Perrysburg-Avon football playoff
game.The game is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Huron High School.All tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the
gate.County players earn MAL honorsNorth Baltimore’s Lane Bishop and Lakota’s Andrew Ferree have earned
first-team All-Midland Athletic League football honors.Bishop, a senior, was selected as an offensive
back. Ferree, a sophomore, was selected as a linebacker.On the second-team are NB senior Brandon Solly,
and Lakota senior Jack Raymond, both at receiver.Earning honorable mention are Lakota senior Jordan
Smith and freshman Dakota Bowling, and North Baltimore’s sophomore Zach Meggit, and senior Zach
Stewart.Falcon baseball holds banquetThe Bowling Green State University baseball team recently held its
banquet for the 2013 season. The Falcons won the Mid-American Conference tournament and advanced to the
NCAA regional.Jeremy Shay and T.J. Losby shared the most valuable player award, and Mike Frank and Nick
Bruns shared the most valuable pitcher award.Other award winners were: Andrew Kubuski, scholar-athlete
award, and golden glove; Cody Apthorpe and Frank, comeback player of the year; Shay, Mr. Versatility;
Losby, coaches award; Ethan McKenney and Bruns, fireman’s award (best bullpen arm); Patrick Lancaster,
Mr. Hustle/Aaron Lawniczak Award; Nick Glanzman, freshman of the year/Don Woods Award; and Apthorpe, Mr.
Falcon/Ken Schoeni Award.KVCC downs Owens menKalamazoo Valley Community College defeated the Owens CC
men’s basketball team, 117-109 Wednesday. Owens is 3-2.Owens’ leaders were: Tony Boykins, 20 points, 11
rebounds; John Murry, 20 points, six rebounds; and Martez Asberry, 18 points, three rebounds, three
assists, three steals.Owens women winGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Owens Community College women’s
basketball team downed Grand Rapids CC, 68-56.Owens is 5-1.Owens’ leaders were: Kamilah Carter, 18
points; Eboni Adams, 17 points, six rebounds, five assists; and Paige Wright, 11 points, five
assists.Owens’ Carter honoredOwens Community College sophomore point-guard Kamilah Carter is the Ohio
Community College Athletic Conference women’s basketbal player of the week.Overall, through five games,
Carter is averaging 18.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. She’s shooting 22-for-26 (84.6
percent) from the free-throw line.
