EMU downs BGSU volleyball
Eastern Michigan defeated the Bowling Green State University volleyball team, 25-9, 23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-12 Friday in a Mid-American Conference match.
BG’s leaders were: Jelena Sunjoc, 12 kills; Paige Penrod, 11 kills, 16 digs; Alyssa Maloney, 10 kills; Erica Fullenkamp, 48 assists, 15 digs; Libby Dachenhaus, 12 digs; and Ashley Dunn, from Bowling Green High School, 26 digs.
BG is 9-10 overall and 5-2 in the MAC.

Buffalo tops BGSU women’s soccer
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo defeated the Bowling Green State University women’s soccer team, 1-0 in a Mid-American Conference match Friday.
Lauren Cadel made 11 saves for the Falcons, 0-12-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the MAC.

Owens volleyball wins twice
ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Owens Community College volleyball team went 2-1 at the Kishwaukee Invitational Friday.
Owens beat Carl Sandburg College, 25-23, 25-15, 25-13, and Rock Valley College, 25-11, 25-15, 25-15, before Moraine Valley CC posted a 17-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-23 win over the Express.
Ciarra Wirick led Owens in kills in all three matches, and was in the top three on the team in assists and digs also.
Owens is 16-17 overall.

Express women’s soccer wins
Jessica Grindle, from Northwood High School, scored two goals as the Owens Community College women’s soccer team beat Jackson College, 4-0.
Erika Brinkman made one save for Owens, now 13-2 overall.
Grindle has scored 19 goals this season.
