BGSU sets basketball TV games
The Bowling Green women's basketball team will have four games televised as part of the Mid-American Conference package this season, and the men's team will have three games in the package.
The women's games broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel are a home game vs. Northern Illinois on Jan. 26, along with games at Ball State (Jan. 15), Central Michigan (Jan. 18) and Toledo (Feb. 2).
The men's television schedule has two games in MAC play - the home game vs. Akron on Feb. 9, and the Falcons' game at Western Michigan on Jan. 19 on Time Warner
BGSU's regular-season opener vs. USF on Nov. 15 will be aired on ESPN3.
In March 2014, six games (second round, third round and semifinals) of the MAC men's basketball tournament will be broadcast live, while three games (semifinals and championship) of the women's tournament will air live.
CSU downs BG's men's soccer
Cleveland State defeated the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team, 1-0 in double-overtime Wednesday at Cochrane Field.
The Vikings scored with 2:20 gone in the second overtime.
Michael Wiest made one save for the Falcons, 3-6-4 overall.
Owens volleyball wins
The Owens Community College volleyball team beat Cuyahoga CC Wednesday.
Owens is 14-16 overall and 7-3 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Express men's soccer wins
Ahmad Jarrar scored two goals and added two assists as the Owens Community College men's soccer team beat Cuyahoga CC, 8-2 Wednesday. The Express scored seven times in the second half.
Joshua Kleinow and Ryan Wicher combined to make five saves.
Owens is 12-4-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Grindle scores for Owens women
Jessica Grindle, from Northwood High School, scored the eventual game-winning goal as the Owens Community College women's soccer team beat the Indiana Tech junior varsity, 3-1 Wednesday.
Grindle broke a 1-1 tie in the 78th minute. Erika Brinkman made one save.
Grindle has 17 goals and five assists this season.
Owens is 12-2.
Curling club plans open houses
The Bowling Green Curling Club is hosting three Learn to Curl Open Houses at the Ice Arena.
The open houses are Tuesday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.; Wednesday from 6-10 p.m.; and Oct. 24 8-10 p.m.
The cost is $10 per night and includes all equipment, instruction and the chance to play a short game. Curlers should wear comfortable warm clothes and clean athletic shoes.
