Five county teams in computer football rankings
COLUMBUS - Five Wood County schools remain in the top 12 of their respective regions in the state high school football rankings.
The county teams are:
In Division II, Perrysburg is seventh with 10.1833 points.
In Division IV, Lake is seventh with 9.8333 points.
In Division V, Eastwood is second with 10.2 points.
In Division VI, Northwood is 11th with 5.95 points.
In Division VII, North Baltimore is 11th with 2.45 points.
The top eight teams in each region at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs.
Detroit tops BG men's soccer
Detroit scored with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to defeat the Bowling Green State University's men's soccer team, 2-1 Tuesday in a nonleague game at Cochrane Field.
Anthony Grant scored for the Falcons, and Michael Wiest made four saves.
BG men's golfers finish fifth
CABO SAN LUCAS, BCS, Mexico - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished fifth in the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate Tuesday with an 890 total.
UC-Irvine won the 11-team event with an 882 total.
Freshman Jose Narro led the Falcons with a 219 total, which tied for eighth overall.
Other BG scores were: Chris Melvin, tied for 17th, 222; Brett Rinker, tied for 21st, 224; Josh Bialecki, tied for 30th, 228; and Ryan Triller, tied for 43rd, 231.
BG women's golfers finish seventh
FISHERS, Ind. - Bowling Green State University's women's golf team finished seventh in The Preview with a 642 total.
Toledo won the 16-team tournament with a 611 total.
BG's scorers were: Shelby Wilson, tied for 16th, 158; Lily Bartell, tied for 31st, 162; Hannah Lewis, tied for 35th, 163; Patricia Holt, and Bailey Arnold, tied for 38th,164.
