BGSU women's golfers tie for third
NORMAL, Ill. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team was third at the Redbird Invitational, finishing with a 903 total. Toledo won the 14-team event with an 890.
BG's Lily Bartell was second overall with a 216, one stroke behind the winner.
Also scoring for BG were: Patricia Holt, 229, tied for 20th; Hannah Lewis, 230, tied for 22nd; Mikayla Baer, 232, tied for 27th; and Shelby Wilson, 234, tied for 34th.

Falcon men's golfers seventh
HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a 36-hole score of 580 (292-288) Monday and is seventh at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
BG freshman Brett Rinker, playing in his first collegiate tournament, shot an even par 142 on rounds of 70 and 72 and is 16th overall.
Other BG scorers were: Chris Melvin 145, tied for 25th; Jose Narro, 146, tied for 30th; Ryan Triller, 147, tied for 38th overall; and Josh Bialecki, 151, tied for 59th.
The tournament concludes today.

BGSU men's basketball schedules open tryouts
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team is holding walk-on tryouts on the Stroh Center main court, Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m..
BGSU students interested must bring a completed physical, taken within the past year, and sign a waiver upon arrival. The prospects should use the Schmidthorst Pavilion entrance.

Punt, Pass, Kick scheduled
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is holding the NFL Punt Pass and Kick skills competition at Carter Park on Sept, 18.
The competition is open to boys and girls ages 6-15 (age as of Dec. 31, 2013), it is free and participants may register on the day of the event.
Participants may go any time between 6-8 p.m. to participate.
The event will be held rain or shine and participants are asked to bring a copy of their birth certificate for registration.  No spiked or cleated shoes permitted.  
Trophies will be awarded to the age group winners.  Each first place winner will advance to the sectional event.
