Andrea Alt has been named one of three captains for the Bowling Green State University women's track and field team.
A redshirt sophomore from Perrysburg High School, Alt is a distance runner for the Falcons. She was seventh in the steeplechase and 10th in the 5,000 at the Mid-American Conference championships last season.
Jeanette Pettigrew and Brooke Pleger are the other captains.
Owens volleyball wins
EYLRIA - In three sets the Owens Community College volleyball team beat Lorian County Community College Wednesday.
Aricka LaVoy, from Eastwood High School, had seven digs for Owens.
Owens has won four straight and is 5-6 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Express men's soccer loses
LIVONIA, Mich. - Schoolcraft College scored in the second overtime to beat the Owens Community College men's soccer team, 2-1 Wednesday.
Bjion Campbell scored for Owens, 3-1 overall.
Owens women's soccer loses
Schoolcraft College beat the Owens Community College women's soccer team, 3-1 Wednesday.
Tara Preble, from Lake High School, assisted on Owens' lone goal of the match.
Owens is 2-2.
Dupont coaching at MIT
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Alma-Lynn Dupont, a Bowling Green High School graduate, is entering her first year as an assistant coach with the MIT Engineers women's soccer team.
Dupont coaches with the Massachusetts Olympic Development Program (ODP) U13 state team. Previous to ODP, she worked as the Director of Operations for the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team and was a staff coach with the Greater Toledo Futbol Club.
Dupont graduated from Simmons College in 2013 with a dual degree in communications and studio art. She was a member of the soccer team, helping lead the team to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs both years and a championship appearance her senior year.
MIT came into the season ranked 15th in NCAA Division III.
