Falcon volleyball picked to win MAC East
CLEVELAND - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team was picked to finish first in the Mid-American Conference East in a vote of the coaches.
The Falcons also tied for the most votes to win the MAC tournament championship.
Bowling Green received seven of 12 first place votes, with Ohio receiving the other five votes. In the West Division, Western Michigan received five votes, Northern Illinois received four, while Central Michigan picked up three.
The Falcons, along with Ohio, picked up four votes to win the MAC Tournament championship. Northern Illinois and Western Michigan each received two votes.
The complete voting was: East, 1) BOWLING GREEN, seven, 2) Ohio, five; 3) Miami; 4) Buffalo; 5) Akron; 6) Kent State; West, 1) Western Michigan, five; 2) Northern Illinois, four; 3) Central Michigan, three; 4) Ball State; 5) Eastern Michigan; 6) Toledo; and MAC tourney, Bowling Green and Ohio, four; Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, two.
