Soccer development league planned Registration is open for the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Developmental League Soccer. The developmental league will be managed by the Bowling Green Soccer Club. The program will consist of seven weeks of practice and six games, including a season-ending tournament. Practices being Aug. 27 and games begin Sept. 8. The practice schedule: Mondays, 5:30-6:15 p.m. for 3-5-year-olds; Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. for 5-8-year-olds; and Mondays 5:30-7 p.m. for 9-14-year-olds. All practices and games will be played at the Dunbridge Soccer Fields. The participant cost for ages 3-4 is $45 and $50 for ages 5-14 if registered by Aug. 26. Registration after Aug. 26 will result in a $5 late fee. All participants will receive a shirt. Players are required to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer ball to practices and games. The new coaches required certification class is Aug. 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bowling Green Community Center. Register at the Bowling Green Community Center 1245 W. BG's VonderBrink honored Bowling Green Falcon women's soccer senior Sarah VonderBrink has been named to the College Sports Madness preseason All-Mid-American Conference first-team. A midfielder, VonderBrink, enters her senior season with career totals of 15 points on four goals and seven assists. Three of the four goals have been game-winning goals. |
