Genoa picked to win NBC football title
GENOA - Defending champion Genoa was the pick to win the Northern Buckeye Conference football championship.
The Comets received seven first-place votes and 62 points in the coaches voting Sunday night. Eastwood was second with the other first and 54 points.
Woodmore was third with 41, followed by Rossford 40, Lake 34, Otsego 28, Elmwood 19 and Fostoria 10.

BGHS baseball  to hold golf outing
The Bowling Green High School baseball team will hold its annual golf outing Aug. 31 at Forrest Creason Golf Course, starting at 2 p.m.
The cost is $65 per player.
All proceeds go to help with the purchase of uniforms, equipment and a trip to Florida over spring break.

Owens plans baseball tryouts
The Owens Community College baseball staff is hosting open tryouts for the upcoming season on Aug. 24 at noon.
