Falcon swim team earns academic honors
The Bowling Green State University swimming team has been recognized for earning Team All-American status by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the spring semester.
The Falcons finished the semester with a cumulative team grade-point-average of 3.42. The CSCAA recognizes teams who finish the semester with a grade point average above 3.0.
In addition to the team award, three Falcons earned Scholar All-American honorable mention from the CSCAA.
Alexis Kain, Stephanie Boyle, and Jo√´lle Scheps earned honorable mention, given to student-athletes who achieve at least a 3.5 GPA in the classroom, while achieving "B" standard in the pool.
BGSU volleyball to be broadcast on radio
Bowling Green State University Athletics and the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization have reached an agreement for BGRSO to provide flagship coverage of Bowling Green volleyball in 2013, including live radio coverage of all home and away contests.
Games will be broadcast on WFAL, which is available via Time Warner Cable in Wood County. It is also web-streamed live at bgrso.org and falconradio.org.
Softball tryouts set
Tryouts will be held for Bowling Green Bobcat Softball 14U and 12U tournament teams Monday and Thursday at the BGHS softball field.
Persons who are currently, or who will be filtering into the BG City Schools by the time they reach high school, are invited to attend.
Players need only to attend one day, but may attend both if they wish.
Those interested in the 12U team should arrive by 5:15 p.m. and they will be done by 6:30. Those attending the 14U tryouts should arrive by 6:15, and they will be done by 7:30.
