BGHS hosts OHSAA meeting for fall athletes, parents
Bowling Green High School will be conducting the fall sports Ohio High School Athletic Association mandatory parent-coaches meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.  
All fall athletes and at least one parent should attend to receive information from the athletic director, coaches and trainer.  If you cannot attend, you will need to schedule a time with your coach to receive this information. OHSAA rules and regulations will be covered along with information from the coaches in regards to practices, schedules and rules.  

BGHS selling all-sports passes, tickets
Bowling Green High School is selling all-sports passes and individual sports season passes at the school.  
An all-sports family pass is $250, an adult pass is $90 and a student pass is $70.
Individual sports passes are: football - adult $30, student $25, volleyball - adult $40 and student $35, Basketball - adult $60, student $50; and soccer - adult $40, student $35.  
All tickets at the gate for varsity contests are adults $6 and students $5.  Freshmen and junior varsity contests are adults $4 and students $3.

Eastwood boys golf meeting scheduled for Saturday
DOWLING - All students who plan to join the Eastwood boys golf team should attend a meeting Saturday at 3 p.m. at Tanglewood Golf Course.

Coed volleyball tourney set for Pemberville Free Fair
PEMBERVILLE - A coed volleyball tournament is planned for the Pemberville Free Fair with matches on Aug. 16 from 5:30-9 p.m. and on Aug. 18 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The teams can roster eight players, with six on the court consisting of three males and three females.
The cost is $80 per game, which includes eight T-shirts, and teams are guaranteed at least four matches. Players must be high school graduates or older.
The tournament is limited to the first eight teams.

Gates named to Hornung list
Bowling Green's Jerry 'Booboo' Gates, has been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list.
The award is given to the nation's most versatile player in college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend Paul Hornung.
A junior, Gates moves to safety this season after playing linebacker/rover his first two seasons with the Falcons. He had 73 tackles and a team-high two interceptions last season.
Also Gates earned second-team All-Mid-American Conference honors as a kickoff returner in 2011, finishing the year with 38 returns for 981 yards and a touchdown. His yardage total was the highest single season in BGSU history. Gates had an 88-yard touchdown return versus arch-rival Toledo and had a school record 233 return yards versus West Virginia, including a 77-yard return.
