Hewit 14th entering final round of Ohio Amateur
Former Bowling Green State University golfer Parker Hewit is tied for 14th after three rounds at the Ohio Amateur.
Hewit shot a 73 Thursday and has a 54-hole score of 217. Ironton's Nathan Kerns leads the field at 208.
Also from Wood County, Eastwood High School graduate Kyle Brossia missed the second cut, shooting a 79 and finishing with a three-round score of 228.
The final round at Brookside Golf and Country Club is today.

Woods named to Nagurski watch list
DALLAS - Bowling Green's Dwayne Woods has been named to the 84-player watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. The award is given annually to the nation's best defensive player.
A senior, has 269 career tackles, including 111 tackles last season. Woods added 14.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception last season.

BG Diamond Cats to hold 13-U tryout
The Bowling Green Diamond Cats 13-U travel baseball team will be holding an open tryout July 21 at 10 a.m. at Carter Park Diamond 5. The tryout is for the 2013 season.
The team is looking to add players to compete in the Northwest Ohio Amateur Baseball League as well as multiple sanctioned tournaments next season.

Golferettes
The Golferettes held their weekly outing at the Forrest Creason Golf Course Wednesday.
The flight winners were: A, Joyce Stearns, low gross; Sharon Gargasz, low net; and Jean Bateman, low putt; and B, Linda Moore, low gross, low net, and low putts.
