Powers misses cut
SOUTHHAMPTON, N.Y. - Caroline Powers, a Bowling Green High School graduate, missed the cut at the U.S. Women's Open.
Powers shot an 80 in Friday's second round and had a 36-hole total of 153, 9-over par.
Play was suspended Friday because of fog and the cut did not come until the second round was completed on Saturday morning.
The cut was at 6-over 150. Only the top 60 scores and ties made the cut.
The Women's Open was the third professional tournament for Powers, who recently graduated from Michigan State.
