BG men last, women next-to-last in MAC all-sports standings
CLEVELAND - Bowling Green's men finished last and its women were next-to-last in the Mid-American Conference all-sports standings for the 2010-11 academic year.
The Falcon men averaged 4.58 points in the Reese Trophy standings. BG totaled 27.5 points in its six sports.
Points were awarded based on each school's finish in a sport, with the overall total divided by the number of sports sponsored by each school. A school could count indoor track or outdoor track, but not both.
In the women's Jacoby Trophy standings, BG had a 4.75 average from 47.5 points in 10 sports.
Kent State won the men's all-sports title, while Western Michigan was the women's champion.

Hamilton to replace Milewski as Northwood girls coach
NORTHWOOD - Bill Hamilton has been named the new head girls basketball coach at Northwood High School.
Hamilton replaces Geoff Milewski, who coached the Rangers the past five seasons. Milewski compiled a 39-65 overall record and a 25-35 mark in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. Northwood was 8-12 overall and 7-5 in the TAAC last season.

Eastwood wrestling seventh at Disney Duals
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Eastwood High School wrestling team finished seventh to earn All-American status at the Disney Scholastic Duals.
The Eagles finished with an 8-4 dual-meet record.
Top individuals for Eastwood were: Justin Burket, 10-2, earning a bronze medal; and Bobby Brooks, 9-3, copper medal. Other Eastwood wrestlers were Johnny Shumay, Kyle Klatt, Tyler Bourdo, Michael Glaze, Brad Radabaugh, Randy Caris, Chase Beam, Jacob Welch and Ho Sung Choi. Caris finished 8-4.

Elmwood cross country meeting set for tonight
JERRY CITY - There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in running high school or junior high cross country at Elmwood  tonight at 7 at the high school track. In the event of rain the meeting will be held in the new school auditorium.
Parents and athletes are urged to attend.

Links Lassies
The Links Lassies had regular play at Forrest Creason Golf Course Tuesday.
The flight winners were: A, Eileen Smith, low gross and Sue Joseph, low net; B, Joan Slebos and Mary Ann Hillier, low gross; C, Sally Amos, low gross and Carol Jones, low net. Smith used the low number of putts.

Golferettes
The Bowling Green Country Club Golferettes held a "Florida Scramble" on Tuesday.
The event was won by the team of Lynne Helm, Betty Birr, Mary Fortney, and Pat Stavish with a score of 80. The second-place team was Sharon Gargasz, Sherry Haskins, Becky Dunn, and Ellyn Stout with a score of 81.
