Tryout and hitting camp at BGSU
Players ages 14 to 18 are invited to a tryout to be hosted by Coast to Coast Baseball at Bowling Green
State University on July 8.
Players will be evaluated for hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed, with those accepted into the
program invited to join college coaches and professional scouts at the Roger Dean Complex in Jupiter,
Florida for games and instruction.
An instructional hitting camp will follow the tryout, which begins at 10 a.m.

Owens golfer to transfer
Brandon Hoelzer, who led the Owens Community College men’s golf team to back-to-back top 10 finishes at
the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II national tournament, has signed with NCAA
Division I Longwood University in Virginia.
Prior to coming to Owens, Hoezler was the Three Rivers Athletic Conference Player of the Year, a district
champion and state tournament qualifier as a senior at Fremont Ross High School.
The Owens Community College men’s golf team was ranked first in the nation at the NJCAA Division II level
for the majority of this past season. They captured their second straight OCCAC championship, OCCAC
Ryder Cup championship, Region XII championship and berth in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament,
where the team finished fifth.
