BGSU softball recruit to play for Team Canada
OTTAWA, Ontario - Aspen Searle, a Bowling Green State University softball recruit, has been selected to represent Canada at the 2013 International Softball Federation X Junior Women's World Championship.
Searle, who will be a freshman at BGSU this fall, was one of 17 women to be named to the team after a pair of regional evaluation camps followed by a final selection camp that concluded on Friday.
Searle is a middle infiedler and was named an all-star at second base for the 2012 18U Canadian National Championships.
The 2013 ISF X Junior Women's World Championship is in Brampton, Ontario, from July 1-7. Team Canada will play seven games from July 1-4 before the playoff round on July 5-6. The medal round will be held on July 7.
