Owens volleyball players sign with four-year schools
Three members of the Owens Community College volleyball team have signed with four-year schools.
Outgoing sophomores Erin Schatzle, Julia Haupricht and Alyssa Pelish each signed to continue their volleyball careers recently.
Schatzle, a setter/outside hitter from Monroe, Mich. will play at Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pa. She was a two-time first-team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference and was also a first-team All-Region XII selection.
Haupricht, an outside hitter/middle blocker from Toledo Central Catholic, will play at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Mich. She was an honorable mention All-OCCAC selection as a freshman in 2010.
Pelish, a defensive specialist and also from Central Catholic, will play at Lourdes University in Sylvania. She was named the team's most improved player in 2010 and was the team's Coaches Award recipient in 2011

Links Lassies
The Forrest Creason Links Lassies held tournament play Tuesday.
Prize-hole winners were: Kay Soltesz, longest putt; and Patt Patton, longest drive.
Flight winners were: A - Soltesz, low gross, low net; B - Doris Christensen, low gross, low net; C - Patton, low gross, low net.
Soltesz, Terri Glick, Christensen, and Pat Koehler were the low-putt winners for the tournament.
