Pemberville Legion wins tourney
PEMBERVILLE - Pemberville'a American Legion baseball team won the Pemberville tournament over the weekend going 5-1 in the six-team tournament.
Pemberville opened the tournament with a 7-5 loss to Toledo but defeated Lancaster, Fremont, Mill Creek (Pa.), and Blissfield (Mich.) to advance to the championship game where it beat Toledo 12-3.
Zach Foster, from Elmwood High School, was named the tournament MVP going 9-for-22 (.409) with 12 RBI including two home runs. Foster also picked up two wins on the mound. He pitched two scoreless innings of relief in the Blissfield game and gained the win and went six innings in the championship game, allowing three earned runs.
