Pleger receives region award
NEW ORLEANS – Bowling Green redshirt junior Brooke Pleger is the Great Lakes Region field athlete of the
year as selected by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Plegr broke her own school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 223-0 at the Toledo Invitational
earlier this season.
She threw at least 208-7 in every meet she competed, a mark that only 10 other athletes in the country
have hit.
She won the Mid-American Confernce championship for the second consecutive season, breaking her meet
record with a toss of 218-9.
Pleger competes in the NCAA championships Wednesday in Eugene, Oregon.
She finished second at the NCAA East Regional preliminary round, the first time this year that she did
not place first at a meet.
BGHS football camp planned
The Bowling Green Bobcat football program will host a camp July 7-8-9 at the high school football fields.
Sessions are from 10 a,m. to 11:30 a.m. for third- through sixth-graders and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p,m. for
seventh- and eighth-grade graders
The cost is $35 for pre-registration, $55 for two family members, $65 for three or more from a family and
$45 at the door.

BGHS boys basketball
camp scheduled
The Bowling Green Bobcat boys basketball program will host a camp June 16-17-18.
The camp is for boys entering third through seventh grades. Daily sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The cost is $35 for pre-registration, $55 for two family members, $65 for three or more from a family and
$45 at the door.
