Powers ties for fourth
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Bowling Green High School graduate Caroline Powers finished in a four-way tie for fourth place Sunday in the LPGA Symetra Tour's FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship at Battle Creek Country Club.
Powers finished with a 6-under-par total of 210. She had rounds of 73, 70 and 67.
Callaway drafted by Indians
Bowling Green Falcon football recruit Cody Callaway was selected in the 34th round (1,028th overall) by the Cleveland Indians during Saturday's Major League Baseball Draft.
An all-state football and baseball player at Grafton Midview, the shortstop also is expected to play baseball at BG.
Callaway's father, Dwayne, played baseball at BG.
On the field, the younger Callaway batted .400 with 19 runs scored and 33 runs batted in during his senior season. He hit seven home runs and was walked 18 times, including 13 of them intentionally.
