BGSU baseball wins, advances to MAC tourney
The Bowling Green State University baseball team rallied to beat Buffalo, 5-4 Saturday, and earn a berth in the Mid-American Conference tournament.
The Falcons 20-28 overall, finished 13-14 in the MAC and are the No. 6 seed for the tournament.
Bowling Green faces No. 3 seed Northern Illinois on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon. It is a double-elimination tournament.
BG trailed 4-2 entering the eighth inning, but scored once in the bottom of the eighth and twice in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win.
Matt Pitzulo's RBI single tied the game in the ninth and Patrick Lancaster's base hit plated Pitzulo with the winning run.
Lancaster finished 4-for-5 and Pitzulo was 2-for-5. Ben Singer and Nick Bruns provided 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief with Bruns picking up the win.

Youth tournaments planned
FOSTORIA -The Geary Family YMCA is offering two youth baseball tournaments and one youth softball tournament this summer at Foundation Park.
All tournaments have a fee of $375 and a five-game guarantee. The baseball tournaments are sanctioned by Nations Baseball, while the softball tournaments will be ASA sanctioned.
The baseball tournaments are June 21-23 and July 5-7 and the softball tourney is July 12-14.
