BGSU men's cross country adds four for 2013
The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team has added four athletes for the 2013-14 academic year.
The group consists of Ben Shaffer (Big Rapids, Mich./Big Rapids High School), Logan Pitcher (Newark/Granville High School), Riley Kuess (Coldwater/Coldwater High School) and Nathan Kuck (Cincinnati/Mariemont High School).
Owens softball receives postseason honors
Owens Community College softball team earned numerous postseason awards for the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference and Region XII.
Melanie Iacoangeli, a sophomore rightfielder, was named OCCAC player of the year as she hit .477 with 17 runs, 10 RBI and 25 stolen bases in league play.
Kaitlyn Turski was named OCCAC pitcher of the year going 8-3 with a 3.45 ERA in the league. She led the league in wins and innings pitched.
Additionally, four players were named to the All-OCCAC team. They were Iacoangeli, Mareshah Scott, Olivia Reeder and Emily Rockman.
BGHS physicals planned
Physicals for Bowling Green High School athletes are May 23 from 6-8 p.m., through Wood County Hospital and its Rehab Services/Sports Medicine Department.
The cost is $15 and the physicals are on a first come, first served basis. The fee can be paid and the form picked up in the high school office during normal school hours. This is the only night that the physicals are taking place
Rossford Little League
ROSSFORD - Information packets for second through fifth graders interested in Rossford Little League football are available in the Glenwood Elemtary office.
Registration for both football and cheerleading is Monday and Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., in the lobby of the junior high school gym.
