Powers finishes in tie for 12th
GREENWOOD, S.C. – Bowling Green High School graduate Caroline Powers finished in a two-way tie for 12th
place in the LPGA Symetra Tour Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Charity Classic.
Powers finished with a 2-over-par 290 total, including a 1-under 71 on both Saturday and Sunday. She
earned $3,573 for the finish.
Taiwan’s Wei-Ling Hsu won with an 8-under 280 at The Links at Stoney Point.
Bayer, Beck sign NFL contracts
Former Bowling Green Falcon tight ends Alex Bayer and Tyler Beck signed NFL free agent contracts
Saturday.
Bayer signed with the St. Louis Rams and Beck signed with the New England Patriots.
Bayer, who caught 115 passes in his career, was a two-time All-Mid-American Conference pick and played in
East-West Shrine Game in January.
"I couldn’t be more excited about my decision to sign as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams,"
Bayer began. "I had over 10 free agent offers and St. Louis was by far the best situation for
me."
Beck finished his BG career with 25 receptions for 348 yards and three TDs.
Falcon baseball wins
Bowling Green scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday for a 7-6 win over Ohio in a
Mid-American Conference game at Steller Field.
Brian Bien singled with one out and scored on Jeremy Shay’s double as BG improved to 23-23 overall and
13-11 in the MAC. Ohio is 11-36, 7-17.
BG’s leading hitters were: Shay, 2-for-5, run, two RBI; T.J. Losby, 2-for-4, two runs; and Walker,
2-for-3, RBI.
On Saturday, Ohio scored a run in the seventh to break a 6-6 tie and the Bobcats held on for a 7-6 win.

home run.
Kori Reiser finishes fourth
ASHLAND – Elmwood High School graduate and Bowling Green redshirt freshman Kori Reiser finished fourth in
the discus Saturday at the Campbell/Wright Invitational.
She threw 160-1, her second-best performance of the season. Her best is 162-8 which came a week ago.
BG rugby finishes third
PALO ALTO, Calif. – After Saturday’s 45-22 loss to the University of Arizona in a national semifinal,
Bowling Green rebounded to post a 25-19 win Sunday over San Diego in the consolation game of the
national tournament.
Behind 19-7 at the half, BG held San Diego scoreless in the second half and capped the winning effort
with a try on the last play of the game.
