Falcon baseball loses
Ball State beat Bowling Green State University 5-2 in a nonleague baseball game Tuesday at Steller Field. The Falcons are 16-25 overall.
T.J. Losby and Brian Bien each had two hits and an RBI for the Falcons.

Royal Open Golf Outing slated
JERRY CITY - The Elmwood girls golf team is holding its annual Royal Open Golf Outing on June 22 at Birch Run Golf Course. The shotgun start is at 2 p.m.
The cost is $50 per person and includes 18 holes with a cart, dinner and prizes after the round. The deadline to register is June 12.

Owens softball to play in regional
The Owens Community College women's softball team will look to advance to the national championship tournament for the second time in three years as the Express compete in the NJCAA Region XII (District G) softball championship starting today in Battle Creek, Mich,
The Express take a 21-15 overall record into the double-elimination tournament where they will play the winner of the Ancilla College-Grand Rapids CC game tonight at 6.

Owens' Retic to attend Liberty
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Owens Community College's Joe Retic II is moving on from the Express men's basketball team after one season to attend Liberty University.
Retic started all 36 games for Owens and averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. In postseason play, he was a key catalyst for the district champion Express. Over six games, he averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds.
His four-game stretch in the national tournament earned him all-tournament honors.

Links Lassies
The Links Lassies held a medal play event at Forrest Creason Golf Course.
Flight winners were: A, Eileen Smith, low gross and Kay Marten, low net; B, Sue Kerr and Fran Sakola, low gross and low net; C, Pat Patton, low gross and low net; and Smith and Sally Amos, low putts.
