Owens baseball sweeps
Owens Community College’s baseball team posted a 3-1, 7-2 sweep Tuesday of the Lourdes College junior
varsity Tuesday. Owens is 17-23 overall.
In Game 1, Owens’ Michael Finch had two hits, Lakota High School graduate Tiger Jaso hit a solo home run,
and Sam Hackney and Alex Samson pitched a four-hitter.
In Game 2, Finch, Justin Curry and Ardian Selmani each had two hits for Owens, and Jaso had a hit, an RBI
and scored a run.
Braves defeat Mud Hens
TOLEDO – Gwinnett scored four times in the first inning on the way to a 9-2 win over Toledo Tuesday. The
Mud Hens are 10-16 in the International League West. Toledo is idle today.
Trevor Crowe and Luis Exposito each hit a solo home run and Mike Hessman had two hits for Toledo.
