Rossford's Clay wins spirit award
TOLEDO - Rossford High School athlete Ryan Clay, who plays football and runs track, had the winning essay in the the Chuck Ealey Undefeated Spirit Award.
Ealey is a former standout quarterback at the University of Toledo in the Canadian Football League.
Clay received a $1,000 scholarship for his winning essay.
Perrysburg's Maddy Perry, who plays basketball and volleyball, also received a $1,000 scholarship from the award.
Winners are selected based on their leadership skills, family values, education and community involvement.

Falcons' Glanzman honored
CLEVELAND - Bowling Green's Nick Glanzman is the Mid-American Conference East Division baseball player of the week.
The freshman led BG to four wins last week, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with a .600 on-base-percentage.
He also had seven runs scored, four runsbatted in and two extra-base hits.

BG swimmers recognized
CLEVELAND - Four members of Bowling Green's women's swimming team were named to the Mid-American Conference all-academic team.
The four were seniors Jen Beatty and Alexa Harris, junior Jāˆšāˆ‚elle Scheps and sophomore Stephanie Boyle.
Beatty has a 4.0 grade-point average in physical education teacher education.
Harris has a 3.398 gpa in early childhood education.
Scheps has a 4.0 gpa in individualized businesses.
Boyle has a 3.432 pga as an intervention specialist major.
Four other Falcons - Emily Bennet, Allie Reynolds, Haley Roberts and Carmen Young - earned honorable mention.

Elmwood baseball camp planned
JERRY CITY - Royal Summer Baseball will hold its annual Country Hardball Baseball Camp June 3-6 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Elmwood High School field.
The camp is for students in or out of the Elmwood School District who just completed grade K-5.
Registration forms are available on the Elmwood Middle School website or in the Elmwood Middle School or Elementary offices.
