Falcon baseball loses twice
Eastern Michigan beat Bowling Green State University's baseball team twice over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Eagles scored six times in the first inning on the way to a 13-5 Mid-American Conference win. EMU had 14 hits in the game.
Patrick Lancaster was 2-for-3 for the Falcons and Jeremy Shay hit a two-run home run.
On Saturday, Eastern collected 18 hits in an 11-6 win.
The Eagles scored once in the second and twice in the third for a 3-0 lead and never allowed BG to tie the game.
Andrew Kubuski and Shay each had two hits for BG, while Logan Walker hit a home run.
The Falcons are 7-19 overall and 3-6 in the MAC.

Wymer officiates in men's Final Four
ATLANTA ‚ÄĒNorth Baltimore resident Terry Wymer was one of the officials for Saturday‚Äôs Louisville-Wichita State semifinal game in the men‚Äôs NCAA Final Four.
The Final Four assignment was the first for Wymer.
During the regular season, Wymer’s assignments included games in the Mid-American Conference and the Big Ten Conference.

BGSU's Weimer wins 400
AKRON - Bowling Green State University's Allison Weimer won the 400 with a career-best time at the Northeast Ohio Invitational Saturday, hosted by Akron.
Weimer, a senior, finished in 56.25 to beat 13 other competitors. She edged teammate Taylor Rambo, who was second in 56.83.
Also for BG, Jeanette Pettigrew reached MAC automatic qualifying marks in the 100 and the 200. She ran an 11.93 in the 100 and a 24.37 in the 200.

BGSU gymnasts compete
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Bowling Green State University's Alyssa Nocella and Megan Harrington completed in the NCAA regional gymnastics meet Saturday.
Nocella, a freshman, finished 11th overall all-around with a score of 38.550.
Harrington was 12th with a score of 38.525. Nocella also posted the ninth-best score of the night in the floor exercise with a 9.85.

Buffalo downs BGSU tennis
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo downed the Bowling Green State University tennis team, 5-2 Saturday in a Mid-American Conference meet.
The Falcons are 14-3 overall and 3-2 in the MAC.

Owens baseball wins twice
Owens Community College's baseball team swept Cuyahoga CC, 8-7 and 11-2 Saturday.
In the opener Nate Manis was 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Express. Owens hit three doubles and a triple in the game.
In the second game, Logan Shullick was 4-for-4 with three RBI for Owens. Dane Davis pitched a complete game five-hitter, striking out six and walking three for the Express.
Owens is 9-16 overall and 4-8 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
