BG hockey adds defenseman
Sean Walker, a defenseman for Newmarket in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, has verbally committed to play college hockey at Bowling Green starting with the 2013-14 season.
Walker has four goals and 23 assists in 63 games this season, while totaling 83 penalty minutes.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder turns 19 in November. He's from Keswick, Ontario.
Under NCAA rules, BG coach Chris Bergeron can't comment on Walker until he's signed his national letter of intent.
BGSU men's golfers compete
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished tied for 23rd at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate on the Kingsmill Resort-River Course. The event, which was scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to 18 holes due to snowy conditions.
BGSU finished the tournament with a team score of 305, led by Ryan Triller, who shot 74 to tie for 40th overall.
Other BG scores were: Joe Cooper, 75, tied for 58th; Wes Gates and Charlie Olson, 78, tied for 105th; and Chris Melvin, 80, tied for 124th.
Tennessee won the 31-team tournament with a 285.
Lake taking applications
for head football coach
MILLBURY - Lake High School is accepting applications for a head varsity football coach.
Applicants should download an application form from the school web site, www.lakeschools.org.
graduate asst. position
CLEVELAND - Chip Robinson, a former Bowling Green State University Falcon football player, has taken a graduate assistant coaching position at Notre Dame College. He will be working with the offensive line.
Robinson played several offensive line positions for the Falcons and received his undergraduate degree in December.
