Fink, Grover won't return to Falcon hockey team
Sophomore forward Mike Fink and junior defenseman Max Grover won't return to the Bowling Green Falcon hockey team next season.
Fink had six goals and nine assists in 62 games, while totaling an on-ice rating of minus-9, and eight penalties for 16 minutes.
Grover had no goals and seven assists in 87 games, while totaling an on-ice rating of minus-35, and 46 penalties for 154 minutes.
BG has 28 players for next season (15 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goalies). The roster has four seniors, eight juniors, nine sophomores and seven freshmen. - GORDON
BGSU baseball wins
Bowling Green scored four times in the first inning on the way to a 6-3 win over Shawnee State in a non-league baseball game Wednesday. BG is 8-12 overall.
Matt Pitzulo had two hits and three RBI for the Falcons and Jake Thomas added two hits.
Falcon softball splits
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Bowling Green split a non-league softball doubleheader with Indiana-Purdue-Fort-Wayne losing the opener, 3-1, and winning the second game, 3-0. BG is 15-9 overall.
In the opener, Adrienne Dick had two hits for the Falcons and Andrea Arney drove in BG's only run.
In the second game, Arney had two hits, including a solo home run, for the Falcons and Hannah Fulk drove in two runs. Arney had hit five home runs this season.
Owens baseball wins twice
ADRIAN, Mich. - Owens Community College's baseball team defeated Adrian College junior varsity, 6-3 and 6-4 Wednesday.
In the opener, Joe Sickler, from Bowling Green High School, hit a double for Owens while Ryan Hotmer, from Lake High School, had a base hit and Nick Collins was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In the second game, Myles Debol broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning for Owens. Nate Manis was 2-for-4 for Owens with and RBI. Hotmer picked up the save.
Owens softball home opener rescheduled for today
The Owens Community College softball team's home opener, originally scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled for today at 4 p.m.
The Express play Macomb Community College. The move was made in an effort to beat forecasted rain this weekend.
