Falcon men’s golfers 15th
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Bowling Green Falcon men’s golf team is 15th in the 2014 Desert Shootout after
Thursday’s first round. The Falcons are at plus-17, 305.
BG’s scores were: Jose Narro, 74; Chris Melvin, 76; Joe Cooper, 77; and Brett Rinker and Ryan Triller,
both 78.
State Special Olympics basketball tournament set
The annual Special Olympics state basketball tournament and individual skills contest is this weekend in
Bowling Green.
The tournament is today and Saturday at the Stroh Center, Perry Field House, Bowling Green Community
Center, and Bowling Green High School with games today and Saturday.
The opening ceremonies are today at 5:30 p.m. in the Stroh Center.
The individual skills contest is Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at BGHS.
Parking and admission is free for all events.
BG adult softball meetings planned
Informational meetings for Bowling Green adult spring and summer softball will be held March 29 and March
30 at 2 p.m. in the Henschen Building at Carter Park.
Teams only need to attend one of the meetings. Leagues for men’s, women’s coed and church teams are
planned.

Throws clinic scheduled
GENOA – A throws clinic, for the shot put and discus, is April 13 at Genoa High School from 9:30 a.m.-4
p.m. Registration begins at 8:30.
The cost is $85 per athlete, which includes a throw ball for drills, and breakfast and lunch; and $50 per
coach or parent, which includes breakfast and lunch. Parents are encouraged to participate if there are
no throws coaches at their school.
Mike Pendleton will coordinate the clinic.
