Falcon hockey banquet set
The Bowling Green Falcon hockey team's awards banquet is April 6 in the Anderson Club Lounge at the Stroh Center.
Appetizers and a social hour will start at 4 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony and senior recognition at 5 p.m.

Owens' Kelly named first-team All-OCCAC
Owens Community College sophomore James Kelly was a first-team selection on the All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference men's basketball team.
The 6-foot-8 forward led the conference in scoring (21.1 points per game) and rebounding (11.4), while ranking third in blocked shots (1.6 per game) and fourth in steals (2.3).
Three other Owens players were honored.
Freshman guard Joe Retic II was on the second-team. He averaged 13.1 points, 5.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Sophomore guard Franklin Lindsey and freshman guard Tony Boykins were honorable mention.
Lindsey averaged 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. Boykins averaged 11.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Owens' Heacock earns first-team honors
Owens Community College sophomore MacKenzie Heacock was a first-team selection on the All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference women's basketball team.
The guard was the conference's seventh-leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game. She shot 49.2 percent from the field (fourth-best in the conference) and 40.8 percent from 3-point range (second-best).
Owens' Jordyn Bond and Karahn Scott were named to the second-team, and Danielle Bezeau was honorable mention.
Bond, a freshman guard/forward, averaged 9.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.9 blocked shots per game.
Scott, a sophomore forward, scored 12.4 points per game and was the conference's second-leading rebounder at 11.4 per game.
Bezeau, a sophomore guard, averaged 6.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.09 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

BG fast-pitch plans chicken dinner
The Bowling Green Fast-Pitch Association will hold a chicken barbecue April 14 at the Eagles Lodge, 1163 North Main, from noon-3 p.m.
The cost is $10 for a half chicken, vegetable, roll, dessert and beverage.
Dinners will be pre-sold only. Tickets will not be sold on the day of the dinner.

BG Rifle Club loses
FREMONT - Fremont defeated the Bowling Green Rifle Club, 1,432-1,398.
BG's scorers were: Richard Dittman and Dan Altman, 289 each; Bob Schwiebert, 280; Mike Sayen, 277; and Jerry Milnor, 263.
