BGSU baseball loses twice
MURRAY, Ky. -Bowling Green State University's baseball team lost twice to Murray State and is 2-4 on the season.
On Sunday, Murray State scored five times in the first inning and held on for an 8-6 victory. TJ Losby was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Falcons Jeremy Shay added two hits and two RBI for BG while Logan Walker and Matt Pitzulo each had two hits.
On Saturday, Murray State posted a 2-1 win despite a strong effort from BG's Mike Frank. Frank allowed just two hits in seven innings, striking out six and not walking a batter. Logan Walker and Patrick Lancaster each had two hits for BG.

Falcon softball goes 2-2
KENNESAW, Ga. - The Bowling Green State University softball team split a pair of games on Sunday and Saturday at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament. The Falcons are 3-2 overall.
On Sunday, BG lost to Jacksonville State, 12-7 and beat Campbell University, 4-3.
Jacksonville pounded out 15 hits against three BG pitchers in the win.
Andrea Arney and Katie Yoho each hit home runs for the Falcons. Yoho had three RBI and Erika Stratton had two.
Casey Akenberger, a Bowling Green High School graduate, pitched the final three innings for Jacksonville State to pick up the save.
Against Campbell, Paige Berger hit the 31st home run of her Falcon career and is one home run away from matching the school record. She finished with three hits and two RBI.
On Saturday, BG beat Youngstown State, 1-0 and lost to host Kennesaw State, 5-0.
Stratton's base hit drove in the only run of the game against Youngstown State. Paris Imholz pitched a four-hitter for the Falcons, striking out two and walking four.
The Falcons managed only three hits against Kennesaw State.

Falcon gymnasts win
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team posted its highest score since 2005 to earn a tri-meet victory over Mid-American Conference rivals Ball State and Eastern Michigan Saturday in Anderson Arena. The Falcons hit all four events to finish with a 194.525.
The Falcons finished the meet with season-best scores on balance beam (48.725) and floor exercise (49.300). Megan Harrington won the all-around (38.900), and tied for first place on balance beam with Gina Locigno (9.825) and first on floor exercise with Alyssa Nocella (9.9). Jamilah Ali won the vault crown with a career-high 9.875, while Amanda Lievendag won her fifth uneven bars title of the year with a 9.85, completing a BGSU sweep of the awards stand.

BGSU tennis now 9-1
PERRYSBURG -The Bowling Green State University tennis team is 9-1, with nine straight wins, after beating California (Pa.) 6-1 Sunday.
BG's winners were: singles, Nikki Chiricosta, Emily Reuland, Maddy Eccleston. Katie Grubb and Katie Brozovich; and doubles, Eccleston and Reuland and Brozovich and Drew Fillis.

Falcon track finishes 11th
YPSILANTI, Mich. - The 1,600 relay team broke a school record as the Bowling Green State University indoor track and field team competed in the Mid-American Conference championship meet Saturday.
The Falcons finished 11th in the 12-team event with 12 points. Kent State won the meet with 175 points.
The 1,600 team of Taylor Rambo, Felicia Jefferson, Brittany Sinclair and Allison Weimer was fourth overall in 3:46.89.
Also for the Falcons, Brittany Sinclair was sixth in the 400 (56.70) and Brooke Pleger was fifth in the weight throw with a throw of 61-11 1/2.

Owens women win OCCAC title
COLUMBUS - Emma-Jean Ricketts scored a team-high 28 points to help Owens Community College women's basketball team capture an outright Ohio Community College Athletic Conference championship with an 88-79 win over Columbus State CC Saturday.
Ricketts also had 11 rebounds.
Other leaders for Owens were: Nandi Taylor, 15 points, nine assists; Mackenzie Heacock, 13 points; Karahn Scott, 11 points, 13 rebounds; and Danielle Bezeau, 10 rebounds.
It was the 200th career win for Owens head coach Mike Llanas.
Owens is 23-7 overall and 10-2 in the OCCAC.

Express men win
COLUMBUS - James Kelly and Chris Wilson led the Owens Community College men's basketball team to a 80-76 win over Columbus State CC Saturday.
Kelly finished with 16 points and Wilson had a season-high 16 points and added eight rebounds. Also for Owens, Joe Retic II added 15 points, four rebounds and team-highs in assists (six) and steals (three).
Owens is 21-8 overall and 10-2 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
