Perrysburg girls ranked eighth
COLUMBUS - Perrysburg's girls basketball team moved up two places to eighth in this week's Division I poll.
The Yellow Jackets, 19-1 overall, received 56 points in the final media voting of the season. Perrysburg was 10th with 40 points last week.
The poll is on page 12.

BG baseball picked third in MAC East
CLEVELAND - Bowling Green's baseball team was picked to finish third in the Mid-American Conference East in the annual poll of conference coaches.
Kent State was first with 72 points, followed by Miami 58, BG 44, Ohio 34, Akron 25 and Buffalo 19.
Central Michigan was picked to win the West with 65 points. Toledo was second with 60, followed by Eastern Michigan 54, Western Michigan 36, Ball State 23 and Northern Illinois 15.
Kent received nine votes to win the MAC tournament, while Central, Eastern and Toledo each had one vote.

Falcons golfers win MAC event
DADE CITY, Fla. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team rallied to beat Ball State and win the Mid-American Conference Match Play Championship Tuesday.
The Falcons beat the top-seeded Cardinals, 3 1/2-2 1/2.
The Falcons were helped by Joe Cooper who earned a half-point and Joe Triller who earned a full point with a birdie on No. 17 and a part on No. 18.
Overall, the Falcons went 10-3-5 in 18 individual matches in the event.  Last year, BG was last in the match play event, picking up only three individual wins.

BGSU plans promotions for men's game
The Bowling Green men's basketball team hosts Western Michigan tonight at 7.
All children 12-and-under will receive a free ticket for the game and it's $1 for hot dogs.
Also if the Falcons beat Western Michigan, everyone in attendance will receive a free ticket to the next men's basketball home game on Feb. 21 against New Orleans.
Just present your Western Michigan ticket to the BGSU Box Office to receive complementary admission to the New Orleans game.

Tickets available for BG boys sectional game
Tickets are on sale during school hours in the Bowling Green High School office for the BG-Bryan boys sectional basketball game at Swanton High School on Feb. 27 at approximately 8 p.m.
Tickets are $6 adults and $4 students for presale. All tickets at the door are $6.

BG softball signups set
Signups for the Bowling Green FastPitch Association summer softball season are Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Carter Park Red Building.
All girls from 8U-16U are welcome.

Rudolph youth ball league plans bingo
RUDOLPH - The Rudolph Youth Ball League is planning bingo Sunday at the Liberty Township Civic Center.
The doors open at 2:30 p.m. with bingo starting at 3.
